G.H. Harley McKown, 86, of Beech, Calhoun County, died Wednesday, August 4th, 2004 at his residence.

He was a devoted Christian and attended the Milo Community Church at Minnora and was a member of the former I.O.O.F. Lodge at Minnora.

Surviving are his wife, of 67 years, Madge Houchin McKown; three sons, Donald McKown and his wife Becky of Murraysville, WV, Bradley McKown and his wife Brenda and Wendell McKown and his wife Chris of Orma, WV; two daughters, Shirley Jett and her husband Calvin of Doylestown, Ohio; and Karen Ellison and her husband Steve of Orma; 12 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren; brother Oris McKown of Florida; and sister, Mazel Faye Pingard of Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Kenna J. and Addie Norman McKown; four brothers, Denver, Thurman, Cleddie and Donald McKown; sister Hazel Bowers; and two grandsons.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, August, 7 at 1:30 p.m. at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Interment will be in the Bailey Cemetery.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday.
