CALHOUN WILL GET NEW COMMUNICATION EQUIPMENT

(07/28/2004)
Calhoun's application for the use of a $50,000 grant has been approved by the WV Office of Emergency Services, and the equipment is already on order.

The $50,000 Homeland Security Grant for law enforcement will purchase communication consoles, which will be placed at Calhoun's 911 Center in addition to mobile two-way radio equipment for the Calhoun County Sheriff's Department.

The Sheriff's Department has also requested mobile radio equipment for the Town of Grantsville police cruiser, which has been approved.

A $30,000 grant for the local Office of Emergency Services is being processed by OES Director Bill Stemple.
