STINSON WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED - Trapped Under 4-Wheeler Most Of Yesterday

(07/23/2004)
Friday 2:30 AM - A woman who had been lost in the woods was found about 1 a.m. today on a wooded hillside behind the Arlie Metheney residence at Stinson.

Reports said the 57-year-old woman was seriously injured after being under a 4-wheeler most of yesterday, indicating she had no feeling in her lower extremities.

Calhoun EMS responded to the scene at 1 a.m. just off State Route 16 after members of the Upper West Fork and Big Otter Fire Department had been searching the area.

The woman had not returned from berry picking Thursday evening.

EMS asked for HealthNet to fly to the area, but the service advised they could not respond to southern Calhoun because of fog conditions.

She was being taken to Charleston Area Medical Center at 2:30 a.m. where the local ambulance was meeting an emergency team on I-79.
