FAMILIAR GRANTSVILLE FACE GONE - Leonard Marshall Passes At 96

Leonard Marshall, well known resident of Grantsville, passed away yesterday at the age of 96.

Mr. Marshall was well known for his frequent walks "up-town" from his residence on River Street, and kept active until the end of his life.

He managed to visit the post office, flower shop, barber shop and the Koffee Kup restaurant, meeting old friends along the way.

He was an officer at the Calhoun Bank and had been employed for many years for Hope at the Cabot Station as well as a variety of other occupations.

He also served in the United States Navy during World War II.

Marshall was an avid hunter and fisherman during much of his life. He was also proud to have been a Shriner.

He was preceded in death by his wife Gladys Trippet and was the last surviving child of the late Robert Melville and Myrtle Marshall of Grantsville.

Surviving relatives include nephew Jesse Jackson of Big Bend WV, niece Virginia Jackson Hosey of Lucasville OH, nephew Roger Marshall of Baltimore MD, nephew Dr. Neill Marshall of New Martinsville, WV, and niece Drusilla Van Doren of Ft. Collins CO.

Funeral arrangements will be completed at Stump Funeral Home in Grantsville.
