LIONS CLUB HAS BIG YEAR - $9,000 Given To Community

(07/15/2004)
The Grantsville Lions Club has completed another successful year, certainly noticing an increase from 18 to 25 members.

President Curtis Gregory said one of the major items in 2003-04 was that the club agreed to sponsor the Calhoun County Wood Festival.

Grantsville Lions volunteered more than 500 hours of labor to various community projects and events and collected 240 pair of used glasses.

Gregory said "Thanks to tremendous public support of Lions fundraisers, the club has been able to give $9,000 in donations to schools, youth athletics, 4-H, scouts, community groups, vision care, and college scholarships, among others."

The Grantsville Lions Club exists to provide service to the community and all the money raised is returned in the form of donations.

The club wishes to thank everyone for their help and assistance.

The club still wants recycled eyeglasses, which can be placed in containers around the community.
