COMMISSION HAS SMALL AGENDA

The Calhoun Commission meet Monday dealing with a short agenda, mostly usual and customary business.

They discussed a grant application which is being presented to the Sisters of St. Joseph for physical fitness equipment for the Minnora Center. The request is for $2000-$2500.

County Clerk Richard Kirby said the fiscal year ended in the black.

There was a brief review of Budget Digest grants, Homeland Security funds and a recent application for a Small Cities Block Grant for an elevator for the courthouse.

The commission approved the Local Emergency Planning Committee plan for Calhoun County and processed the applications for hazardous mitigation for local residents who desire to sell-out to FEMA.

Bonds, bills, wills, budget revisions were processed.

The next regular meeting is scheduled for August 12 at 9 a.m.
