(07/13/2004)
Norma Knotts Shaffer, the Hur Herald's Associate Editor, fell and broke her hip Sunday.

She was outside her Grantsville home tending her roses when the accident happened.

Norma has received surgery at Camden-Clark Hospital in Parkersburg and is expected to be moved from the hospital to a re-hab in a few days.

Her daughter Bobbi reports she is "doing fine" after the surgery.

Norma is expected to return to her long-time Hur Herald duties collecting, sorting and publishing the Photo of The Day, among many other projects related to the history of Calhoun County.
