| Delmer Ray Hickman, Sr., 57, went to be with the Lord, July 11, 2004, surrounded by friends and family at his home. He was born December 23, 1946 on White Pine. Delmer was the son of the late Oral and Gladis Hickman of White Pine. He served in the United States Army and attended Cherry Fork United Methodist Church. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Mary Hickman of White Pine; one daughter and son-in-law, Della and Jonathan Ramsey of Somersworth, New Hampshire; one son and daughter-in-law, Ray and Dolly Hickman of Grantsville, WV; and 4 grandchildren. He is also survived by 5 brothers, Bronson and wife Alice Hickman of Nobe, Phillip and wife Micki of Gilboa, WV, Hatzel and wife Diane of China Grove, NC, Alfred and wife Jeanne of Big Springs, Timothy and wife Terry of Nobe; one sister, Darlene Harris and husband Charles of Grantsville; sister-in-law, Estelle Hickman of Cleveland, Ohio; Delberta Hickman of Big Springs; 9 nieces, 4 nephews, 4 great-nieces and 4 great nephews. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Bob and Frank Hickman and 2 nephews, Danny and Luke Hickman. Delmer was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be held, 2 p.m. Wednesday, July 14 at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville. Rev. Rick Metheney will officiate. Interment will be in the Kight Cemetery, Grantsville. Friends may call at the funeral home from 12 noon Wednesday until time of services. Family, friends and relatives are welcome Tuesday evening at their residence. |
