DRIVER FLEES THREE-CAR ACCIDENT - Two Other Wrecks Investigated

(06/19/2004)
Three vehicles collided in a sharp turn on Route 16 south of Arnoldsburg near the mouth of Crummies Creek this afternoon. A driver of one of the vehicles reportedly fled on foot before authorities arrived.

The accident happened following a downpour.

None of the other drivers or passengers required transport to a medical facility. Calhoun EMS and the Arnoldsburg VFD responded, along with Trooper Doug Starcher and Sheriff Allen Parsons.

There was a single vehicle accident on Sycamore earlier in the afternoon, with no injuries reported.

An accident Friday evening sent one person to the hospital.

The driver was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center shortly after 6 p.m. Friday, suffering from injuries received in an accident on the Mt. Zion Ridge.

The auto was traveling south on State Route 16 when it went out of control in a sharp curve a short distance north of Pine Creek Road.

The vehicle then struck the road bank.

Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD responded to the scene.
