Two vehicles collided at Cabot Station yesterday evening shortly after 5 p.m., sending at least one person to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center.

Sheriff Allen Parsons said a Lincoln Town Car driven by Inez Shuman of Grantsville was pulling onto Rt. 5 from a driveway when her vehicle was struck by a GMC Jimmy driven by Rebecca Keener.

Shuman and a passenger were extracted from the vehicle by the Grantsville Volunteer Fire Department using the Jaws of Life.

Keener, who had three-year-old strapped in the back seat, was traveling west on Route 5. Neither she nor the child received serious injuries.

Shuman was taken to Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center by Calhoun EMS, where she was treated and released. The passenger was reportedly not injured.

Chief Deputy Carl Ballengee and Deputy Ron Bandy were also at the scene.
