Sylvia Coe Holland, 89 - Spencer

Sylvia Coe Holland, 89, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Tuesday, June 8, 2004, in Miletree Center, Spencer, after an extended illness.

She was born August 26, 1914, in Roane County, a daughter of the late James Madison and Elizabeth Jane Criner Coe. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Alonzo Ace "Lonnie" Coe, four brothers, Worthy, Obie, Harless and Ora; seven sisters, Lorie, Nora, Cammie, Radie, Orphie, Axie and Losa.

Sylvia was a homemaker, wife, mother, grandmother and devout Christian.

Survivors include one daughter, Peggy J. Harris of Spencer; two granddaughters, Veronica Harris Powell of Spencer and Valerie Harris of Charleston; two great grandchildren, Kelsi and Skylar Powell; several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of her life will be Friday, June 18 at 11 a.m. in the Clover Community Church, Clover, with Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. A gathering of family and friends will be in the Church Fellowship Hall immediately after the celebration of life.
