ARNOLDSBURG SCHOOL NEWS - Students Learn While Having Fun

Arnoldsburg School had it's 2004 Career Day on Friday, June 3. Presenters were Eric Schoolcraft and Marge Fowler of Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center, Forester Mark Sims, Burl Simers, professional race car driver, and the one and only Mr. Toby Wagoner of WVRC Radio.

A special treat rolled in to our school during Career Day. Larry Heiney, local businessman provided his service by transporting one of the monster trucks that performed at the Wood Festival on Friday evening. A very special thanks goes out to Deputy Sheriff Charles Richards, through his efforts the Monster truck was brought to Arnoldsburg School.

YO-YO Professional Steve Brannon provided some secrets of how to YO-YO and gave some important steps in "Becoming a Champion" to the students through an outstanding performance. Steve was brought to Arnoldsburg School through USA YO YO Extravaganza. Steve has presented this show at the White House in Washington D.C., all across America and in Europe.

A special thanks to Mrs. Patty Hicks who coordinated the Track and Field day on the afternoon of June 3rd. Mrs. Hicks gathered 13 parent volunteers to help teachers take care of setting up stations and monitoring each event. Mrs. Hicks is a 2nd grade teacher at Arnoldsburg School.

Mr. Lawrence Jarvis, a partner in education with Arnoldsburg School, provided 18 large water melons for all the students, teachers and volunteers for the Track and Field day. Lawrence has contributed his help and assistance on several occasions throughout the school year.
