Living Beyond Breast Cancer is excited to announce "First Person Plural," a unique on-line dialog for women who have had breast cancer. You are invited to participate!

One thing that makes FPP unique is that the project organizers intend to create a book (also called "First Person Plural") based entirely on the messages posted during the dialog. Profits from the book will be donated to non-profit breast cancer organizations.

The free dialog is scheduled to begin Monday, June 7. It's not a "chat," which requires everyone to be on-line at the same time. Instead, over a two-week period, you'll be able to log on any time that's convenient for you -- and as often as you want -- to read what others have written, and to post your own thoughts and experiences. Using an innovative technique called "Small Group Dialogs," you'll be assigned to a small group of women who will get to know one another quickly and intimately, but you'll also be able to read what's being discussed in any of the many other groups on the site. People who have participated in previous dialogs using this technique have often made profound discoveries about themselves. As a participant, your safety and privacy are a high priority - you'll choose a screen name and your identity won't be revealed.

The on-line dialog will also be extremely valuable for the women who participate. You will "meet" a diverse group of women from all over the country, share your stories about coping with breast cancer and explore together what you've learned from your experiences. The forum will explore topics like self-image and self-worth, love and sexual intimacy, fear, and relationships.

The dialog is being produced by Web Lab, in partnership with Living Beyond Breast Cancer, NABCO, breastcancer.org, Sisters Network, the Mautner Project, and other organizations.

To participate, you must register before the dialog begins. Please visit www.first-person-plural.org to register, or to find out more about the project.
