MEMORIAL DAY SHOOTING TAKES RITCHIE COUNTY LIFE

A Ritchie County man has been charged with second-degree murder after he allegedly broke into a home at Pennsboro, Ritchie County, killing one man and shooting another.

The incident took place Memorial Day.

Brusie R. "Don" Lanham, 58, was arrested Monday night shortly after the shooting.

State Police say Lanham shot 55-year-old Barry "Buck" Moore several times in the arm.

Lanham was then shot in the hand and torso by someone in the home.

Police say Lanham shot and killed 36-year-old Jon Broadwater of West Union.

Moore was taken to United Hospital Center in Clarksburg and then to Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown.

Lanham was taken to Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital in Parkersburg, where he was reported to be in fair condition.

It was not clear what motives were behind the shootings.
