Tonight the Lion's Club Carnival will open in Grantsville, plus the famous Lion's bingo booth. The Wood Festival officially starts Thursday. It is expected to draw a lot of former Calhouners and regional residents, who come for the down-home fair-like festival.

The Lion's Club Wood Festival committee has worked extra hard this year to provide one of the more exciting events in recent years.

This year the festival features two special events - the X-Treme Monster Truck and Motorcycle Jump Show on Friday night at Wayne Underwood Field and the Kentucky Headhunters concert at County Park Saturday night.

The festival booths will be open throughout the three day event, with the big parade kicking off Saturday at 1 p.m.

Free entertainment will be provided every evening on the Main Stage, Thursday through Saturday, in front of the courthouse.
