Randy Schoonover, 50, a former state senator from Clay County, is reportedly "fighting for his life" after his ATV pinned him for nearly 30 hours following a weekend accident.
Charleston physicians amputated Schoonover's left arm above the elbow and he is scheduled to undergo additional surgery on his arm today.
"He's been fighting for his life for three days now," said his brother, Sammy Schoonover.
He is on a ventilator and is undergoing kidney dialysis.
