The 2004 Calhoun High Follies kicked off last night with the first of three performances, another is scheduled tonight at 7 p.m. and another Sunday afternoon at 2 p.m.

"Music in Time" features Calhoun Middle-High School students and local talent, a two-hour program of tunes and dancing, everything from choral groups to the high school band.

Masters of Ceremonies Derek Roberts and Tyson Price introduced nearly twenty performances, including the community singers known as Calhoun Choral Reflections.

The CHS Choir gave performances including a song and dance number called "Dance with Your Hands," which featured illuminated hands "dancing" in the darkened auditorium.

The entire cast performed, "Oye La Musica" - "Ease On Down the Road" - "I Got the Music in Me" and "Tusk."

"60's Party Line" was performed by the High School Choir and Choral Reflections.

Tiffany Swisher sang "One Way Ticket," Whitney Johnson sang "When I Think About Angels," and Susan Sullivan performed "I Think We're Alone Now."

The Calhoun Middle-High School Band did a jumpin' rendition of "Shakin' at the High School Hop" and "Fantasy on an Irish Clogging Tune, Calhoun Choral Reflections performed "Turn, Turn, Turn" and Bohemian Rhapsody.

There was the rock and roll sounds of Uppahollr and Stoker.

Brianna Blankenship sang "Awesome God/Shout to the Lord," and Vicky Lamont performed "There You'll Be."

The stage was filled with fine entertainment. Follies Director Harry Bealle, Choir Director Faye Chambers and Dance Coordinator Casey Harris are extending a special invitation to the community to come and enjoy the entertainment.
