LARGE U-HAUL TRUCK TUMBLES OVER HILLSIDE - Emergency Services Respond To Grannyshe

(05/08/2004)
A large 17-foot U-Haul truck tumbled off a rural access road last night about 9 pm, causing it to tumble into a deep ravine.

The accident happened off Grannyshe Road, a few miles from Rt. 16 at Chloe.

The driver of the truck, a Virginia resident moving to the area, managed to escape without injury, indicating the unimproved road gave way under the vehicles weight.

It was reportedly loaded with furniture and household goods.

Calhoun EMS dispatched ambulances to the scene with the Upper West Fork Volunteer Fire Department. Deputy Sheriff Ron Bandy also responded to the scene.
