LOWER LIMIT DUI LAW STARTS THURSDAY

(05/04/2004)
Better watch drinking that extra beer if you're going to drive.

The stricter DUI law goes into place in West Virginia this Thursday.

WV is the 46th state to lower the legal limit to .08.

The new law gives the state access to millions of dollars in federal highway funds.

Steve Dale with the DMV says they've studied other states and how the lower blood alcohol level has impacted their budgets.

The state has set aside extra money for DUI cases.

Anyone caught driving over the legal limit of .08 will be charged with a crime.
