SPECIAL INVITE TO LITERACY COUNCIL MEMBERS

(04/30/2004)
A special invitation to Calhoun Literacy Council, friends and members:

Dear Friend:

Have you ever wondered about the old saying "what would you do if they held a meeting and nobody came?" What would you do if that happened to you? If you are like us, you schedule another meeting … and you would send out written invitations to make sure it didn't happen again. This is your invitation.

We recently had such a thing happen to us and Shelly Allen and I were the only people to attend. We ate some cheese and crackers and had some punch while talking about some of the exciting things we are planning, some of the things that the state and national literacy program is doing and how nice it would have been to see your smiling faces.

We, therefore, plan to meet again and go over all the exciting things we are planning and all the things that have happened on the state and national front concerning the literacy program. And this time we really hope to see all your smiling faces.

The date, time and place of the meeting are: May 6, 2004, 5 p.m. at the Calhoun-Gilmer Career Center.

Light refreshments will be served - cheese and crackers probably - and Shelly and I really do not wish to dine alone this time so please plan to join us.

Consider this your invitation!

Sincerely,

Gaylen Duskey

Calhoun Literacy Coordinator
