ATV DRIVER STRIKES UTILITY POLE - Minnora Man Life-Flighted To CAMC

(04/26/2004)
A Minnora man was seriously injured Sunday afternoon on Meadow Run after his four-wheeler spun out of control on the secondary road and crashed against a utility pole.

Sheriff Allen Parsons said Jerry Sanger, in his 30s, lost control in some gravel. "He did not appear to be traveling at a high rate of speed," said Parsons. He was driving a 2001 Honda four-wheeler.

A neighbor said he likely received a head injury.

Sanger was given emergency medical treatment and taken to the Upper West Fork Park where he was air-lifted to Charleston Area Medical Center by HealthNet.

The Upper West Fork VFD responded to the call.

The Grantsville VFD responded to a fire at Mt. Zion at 8:45 p.m. where an old garage was being burned by the owner. The building was located beside Red Clay Press.
