Logging truck wrecks in sharp curve

Truck lands on side dumping load

A logging truck belonging to "Mad Dog" Parsons Logging turned over on its side, dumping a load of logs at the bottom of Jackson Hill on Rt. 16 north of Five Forks. There were no reported injuries in the accident.

Crews worked for extended period of time getting the large truck back on its wheels and removing the logs from the highway.

The Jackson Hill curve has been the scene of dozens of accidents over the years.

Calhoun EMS and the Grantsville VFD responded at 11:55 a.m. Calhoun Sheriff Allen Parsons and Chief Deputy Carl Ballengee investigated the accident.

Calhoun EMS responded to ten calls today, most of them medical.

A two vehicle collision one mile south of Arnoldsburg on State Route 16 sent at least one person to Roane General Hospital. Calhoun EMS and the Arnoldsburg VFD responded.
