Velma K. Kuhl Barker, 96, of Parkersburg

Velma K. Kuhl Barker, 96, of Parkersburg died April 19, 2004, at her residence.

She was born in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Homer F. Kuhl and Lummie Elizabeth Beam Kuhl. She was a member of the Church of Christ and was retired from U.S. Quarry Tile Co.

Survivors include three sons, Oval J. Barker and spouse, Sarah, of Davisville, Charles F. Barker and spouse, Ireta, of Parkersburg and Jack L. Barker and spouse, Charlotte, of Williamstown; daughter, Betty Jenkins and spouse, Jack, of Parkersburg; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Orville Jennings Barker; two brothers; two sisters; three grandsons; and one granddaughter.

Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Evangelist Wirt Cook officiating. Interment will follow at Copen Cemetery in Braxton County, W.Va. Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
