Cora O. Morris, 82, of Newton, West Virginia, died April 18, 2004, in Roane general Hospital, Spencer. She was born December 18, 19 21 in Calhoun County, a daughter of the late Randolph Middleton and Stella Snodgrass McClain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Denver M. Morris; one grandson, Kevin Truman; one great granddaughter, Ashlee Jo Elmore; five sisters, Marie Ferrebee, Lula Tawney, Evis Hargus, Annie Hicks and Beatrice Drake; three brothers, Frankie, John and Robert McClain. She was a homemaker and member of Zion Hill Baptist Church, Elana. Survivors include two daughters, Carole Vineyard of Newton, and Phyllis Drake of Spencer; one son, Marlin Morris of Newton; one sister, Norma Gray of Big Otter; two brothers, Vernon McClain of Newton and Victor McClain of Dixie; six grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted Wednesday, Wednesday April 21 at 11 a.m. at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with the rev. Kenneth Truman officiating. Burial in Harold Cemetery, Uler. Visitation is from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. John H. Taylor Funeral Home
