CIRCUIT COURT WILL HEAR SIX CASES

Calhoun Circuit Court will be in session today to process at least six cases, according to a court docket released by Circuit Clerk Shelia Garretson.

Judge David Nibert will preside.

John Richards of Grantsville will appear before the court in a suppression hearing, reportedly requesting evidence be suppressed related to the search of property which was connected to stolen merchandise.

John G. Arthur will appear before the court with his attorney Shannon Baldwin to make a plea.

Garland Ray Nichols of Grantsville will appear for a status hearing.

Also being heard is a preliminary injunction in a civil matter, King vs. Coon.

Other action last week in Circuit Court:

Matthew Verbus, scheduled to return for a status hearing.

Sharon Smith, plead guilty to welfare fraud, sentencing.

Joshua Bond, sentenced to time served and released.

Walter Wilson III, sentenced to six months to two years, Anthony Center.

In a civil case, George and Carol Zidek vs. Carl Jarvis, a jury ruled in favor of Jarvis. Zidek claimed ownership of timber in land dispute.

Morgan vs. Burdick, a civil case was heard by the court.
