NEW FAMILY RESTAURANT OPENS IN MILLSTONE - "Food With An Extra Touch"

(04/18/2004)

Brenda Cottrell welcomes customers to new eatery

Family restaurant has soup and salad bar, giant Sunday buffet

Calhoun has a new family restaurant - the Millstone Restaurant. The sparkling new alcohol-free facility offers what Pat Jarvis says is "Some really fine food. If you don't believe it, you should stop and give it a try."

Pat and husband Fred have remodeled and decorated the family-oriented facility, which seats about 60 people. "The menu has the usual offerings, but we have a lot of specialty items, including steak and seafood.

"The food will have that extra touch," said Jarvis.

Sunday is buffet day. This Sunday the buffet will have pork and chicken items, all prepared by Chef Ken Switzer, in addition to a generous salad and dessert bar.

Melissa Richards says "Even the coffee is great"

The prices are really affordable.

Jarvis said "I hope people will not try our restaurant because there is a bar next door." There is no entryway to the bar, she said.

"We're catering to community folks, working people and after church business," said Jarvis. "We're really proud of what we've done with the operation, and really hope people will give us a try."

"We'd like to be a stopping place or a place to go out to eat for all of Calhoun," she said. "We're going to do our part." The restaurant opens daily at 11 a.m.
