STUDENTS LEARN ABOUT BLOOD TESTING

(03/31/2004)

Roscoe Gainer's students are studying the circulatory system in anatomy and physiology. They are learning to take blood pressures, record pulse and learn the path of the blood, including the terminology.

This year every student had their blood tested, which is the first time the entire class had the tests done.

The tests are to determine overall health levels for things such as anemia, cholesterol, liver and kidney functions. No tests for diseases were done.

The students expressed thanks to the lab at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center and the School-Based Health Clinic for their cooperation.
