Two Calhoun eighth grade students Cynthia Wildfire and Xenya Cook were inducted into the Knights and Ladies of the Golden Horseshoe yesterday in Charleston. The special ceremony was held in the cultural center.

More than two hundred West Virginia students were recognized for their knowledge about West Virginia history and culture, demonstrated by high scores on the Golden Horseshoe Test. Other regional winners:

GILMER: Morgan Ames, Ashley Minigh and Samantha Smith.

BRAXTON: Tiffany Campbell, Brandon Foster and Josh McLaughlin.

CLAY: Samantha Creel, Alex Hemmelgarm and Jamie Mullins.

RITCHIE: Michael Hardbarger, John Lafferre and Sammy Rogers.

ROANE: Jessica Carper, Scott Huffman and Catherine Whitteker.
