| Thelma Mae Hughes, 69, of Spencer, West Virginia, died Tuesday, March 16, 2004 in Roane General Hospital, Spencer.
She was born April 15, 1934 at Newton, a daughter of the late Clarence and Icy Simms
Davis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carrie S.
Hughes, in 1994; one grandson, Barry Lee Wise; two brothers, Lee and Frank Davis.
She was a homemaker and a Christian.
Survivors include one son, Larry Hughes; two daughters, Cathy Taylor and Wanda Westfall,
all of Spencer; two brothers, Coy Davis of Parkersburg and Bill Davis of Nobe; three
sisters, Bonnie Summerville and Mary Boatright, both of Spencer, and Dolly Bailey of
Parkersburg; ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.
A funeral service will be conducted Saturday, March 20 at 1 p.m. in the John H. Taylor
Funeral Home, Spencer, with the Rev. Phil Lawrence officiating. Burial will be in the
O'Dell Cemetery, Amma.
Friends may call at the funeral home from 6-8 p.m. Friday.
