LINN MAN ARRESTED FOR MURDER - Skeleton Found Near Gilmer Line

(03/03/2004)
A Linn, West Virginia man has been arrested for the murder of a Clarksburg man whose skeletal remains were discovered by a hunter near the Gilmer-Lewis County line, not far from Copley.

Charged with first degree murder is 47-year-old Charles Metz (pictured left). Metz lodged in the Central Regional Jail in Flatwoods awaiting a preliminary hearing.

The West Virginia State Police have identified a set of remains as the body of 34-year-old David McClain of Clarksburg.

Police say Metz's family had been engaged in an ongoing disagreement with McClain, and that's what led to the killing. Troopers have not indicated how McClain died.
