EIGHTH GRADERS PARTICIPATE IN YOUTH GOVERNMENT SEMINAR

Four 8th grade students from Calhoun Middle/High School were selected to participate in the 23rd annual West Virginia Youth and Government Seminar Program. Andrew Arthur, Melissa Jarvis, Jessica Metz, and Brandi Wood spent four days in Charleston learning and participating in all three branches of government.

Joining approximately 100 other 8th graders from around the state, these students had a unique opportunity to learn about state government by observing and interacting with state leaders. The program is rooted in a belief that students learn best by doing and being actively involved.
