 Briana Blankenship received a superior rating of "one" while participating in the Regional Solo and Ensemble Festival held at Blennerhassett Jr. High in Parkersburg.
She performed a trumpet solo called "Shout to the Lord with Awesome God." She was accompanied by instructor Mrs. Faye Chambers on the piano.
Students from seven counties in grades four through 12 competed in the festival.
Briana is in the eighth grade and is a member of the high school band where she serves as section leader for the trumpets.
