THOUSANDS WITHOUT POWER - Ice Storm Strikes Eastern Counties

Thousands remain without power today after an ice storm struck several counties in the eastern and south-eastern section of the state.

Gov. Bob Wise has declared a state of emergency after the winter storm struck the area hit early Friday.

The emergency declaration covers Berkeley, Fayette, Greenbrier, Pendleton, Pocahontas, Raleigh, Summers and surrounding counties. The storm caused extensive power outages, produced rain, flooding, mudslides, high winds, snow and ice.
