WVU SECURITY OFFICERS AWARDED $900,000 - Allegedly Squealed Over Crime Cover-up

(02/06/2004)
WVU has been ordered to pay former campus police officers about $900,000 after they allegedly squealed regarding crime reporting on the campus.

A jury says WVU retaliated against officers who claimed the school deliberately mislabeled dorm room burglaries to avoid a federal crime-reporting law.

The campus officers' civil lawsuit came to a close yesterday in Monongalia County.
