MURDERED WOMAN'S FUNERAL MONDAY - Patricia Kelley Shot Near Spencer

Authorities say an arrest is pending in the gunshot death of Patricia G. Kelley, 30, of Spencer. Kelley died from a single gunshot in what police said was a "domestic incident." Funeral services are scheduled for 12 noon Monday in the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer. Burial will be in the Benear Family Cemetery at Clover. Kelley died after being shot in her mobile home at Mann's Trailer Park south of Spencer on Charleston Road, early Thursday morning. Police say the victim and her two children were at the residence. The children were unharmed. Kelley was born in Roane County, the daughter of Tim and Ruby Smith Benear of Clover. She is survived by a daughter, Stephanie Dawn Kelley and a son Joseph Edward Kelley III; a sister, April Benear Hoopes of Carrollton, Ohio; brother, Joe Wilson of Spencer; maternal grandparents Carl Junior Blosser and Tressie Blosser of Spencer and Doyle Smith of Missouri; paternal grandparents, Eugene and and Mary Benear and Waveline Issac of Spencer.
