SPENCER WOMAN SHOT IN DOMESTIC DISPUTE - Suspect's Arrest Is Pending

Authorities are investigating the shooting of a Spencer woman who was gunned down about 1 a.m. Thursday. The shooting happened inside her residence at Mann's Trailer Court, about three miles from Spencer on U. S. 119, Charleston Road. She has been identified as Patricia Wilson Kelley, age 30 Authorities said she was shot during a domestic dispute. The Roane County Sheriff's Department has indicated there is a primary suspect in the shooting, but they declined to give the suspect's name. When deputies from the Roane County Sheriff's Department arrived they found the victim and the suspect in the trailer along with two children. The children were unharmed in the incident. Authorities said Kelley died from a single gunshot wound. Funeral services for Mrs. Kelley will be held at 12 noon Monday in the Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home in Spencer with the Rev. Howard Nichols officiating. Burial will be in the Benear Family Cemetery at Clover. Visitation one hour prior to the service.
