A Calhoun County man was arrested for assaulting several people in a Spencer
nightclub Friday evening.
The incident occurred just after 5 p.m. at Gilligan's Malibu, located on Court St.
behind the Roane County Courthouse.
Roane Sheriff Todd Cole and Deputy Michael Strobbe were in the sheriff's office
when someone ran in to report a fracas at the bar.
Cole said he and Strobbe arrived to find a bar patron unconscious on the floor
after being struck, and two employees who had been assaulted.
The suspect, Darrell E. Blake Jr., 32, of Mt. Zion, also attempted to strike the
officers when they arrived, Cole said. He was wrestled to the floor and
handcuffed...
