ACCIDENT VICTIM JUMPED BOND IN OHIO - Extradition Will Likely Be Sought

(01/16/2004)
25-year-old Josh Cottrill of Shock, who was injured in a car accident on Euclid-Nicut Road late Tuesday, is wanted by Ohio authorities on numerous charges.

Cottrill is reportedly wanted for resisting arrest, failure to appear, possession of cocaine and grand theft in Portage County.

Police reported a weapon was taken from the victim's clothing after he was life-flighted to a trauma center in Charleston.

State Police in South Charleston are in charge of the case, and will likely look at extraditing Cottrill to Ohio after he recovers from injuries.

Cottrill's vehicle struck a tree head-on, barely missing going into a creek. Authorities said he was trapped in the vehicle for well-over an hour, as temperatures dropped below freezing. He was discovered by a passerby about 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, who called 911.

He is listed in fair condition at Charleston Area Medical Center, suffering from multiple injuries and fractures.
