SPENCER PEDESTRIAN STRUCK ON WALMART ROAD - Webb Taken To Charleston By HealthNet, Three Vehicles Totaled On Bowers Hill

A Spencer woman, identified as Margie Webb, was struck by a vehicle on William's Drive, the access road to WalMart, late this afternoon.

Webb was taken by HealthNet from Roane General Hospital Friday evening, the status of her condition unknown.

The woman was reportedly pushing a shopping cart when the incident happened.

A three-vehicle collision sent some of the occupants to Roane General Hospital shortly after 2 p.m. today. The names of the injured were not available.

A report from the scene said there did not appear to be serious injuries, although the vehicles were described as a total loss.

The accident happened on the Spencer side of Bower's Hill, just east of Spencer on U. S. 33-119.

The vehicles involved in the pile-up were, a GrandAm, a Toyota Four-Runner and a Dodge truck.

The Spencer-Roane VFD, Roane County Emergency Squad and the State Police responded to the wreck scene.
