The Cabot Fleet

Left to right: "Acme," "Virginia Rhodes," "G. L. Cabot," and "J. G. Oles." Individuals are identified as J. G. (Joseph Garibaldi) Oles and Joseph Miller Smith. The primary purpose of these gasboats was transporting carbon black from the G. L. Cabot Carbon Black Factory at Cabot Station to either Creston or Parkersburg. On the return trip, the boats primarily carried merchandise to area businesses
