WILLIAMSTOWN -- For the second straight week Calhoun ran up against a powerhouse undefeated team. For the second straight week
Calhoun lost.
Williamstown, the top-ranked Class A team in the state, blitzed Calhoun 56-18 Friday night doing seemingly anything it wanted.
The undefeated Yellowjackets had four touchdowns by running Alan Tracewell, two by Wes Merrifield and two more by the defense in
posting the win.
Tracewell scored on runs of 41, 21 and seven yards and caught a 67-yard scoring pass from Shane Smith. Tracewell was the big gun in the
Yellowjackets' attack with 155 yards on 17 carries while adding 67 more on the scoring pass.
Merrifield scored on runs of 22 and three yards while adding 72 yards rushing.
The Yellowjackets also had a touchdown on Smith's 99-yard interception return and another on John Wilson's 35-yard run with a blocked
punt.
Calhoun, now 2-3, was led by Eric Metz with 76 yards on 21 attempts. Metz had touchdowns from eight and two yards. Calhoun's other
touchdown came on Marcus Davis' tree-yard run. Davis also had a pass interception earlier in the contest.
Calhoun will try to end its skid at home against Wirt County next Friday night.
The game will be broadcast on tape delay by WVRC radio.
