Old Stump Home Torn Down in 1920

(10/14/2002)

Transcribed by Norma Knotts Shaffer from microfilm of the Calhoun Chronicle dated 3/25/1920.

The old S.P. Stump home on the corner of Court street and Main alley is being dismantled and torn down this week.  It is one of the oldest houses in Grantsville, having been built back in the seventies.  Part of the lumber used in construction was in the old frame court house that used to stand where the present one now is.
