JUMPIN' FOOLS WITH FLIGHTS OF FANCY - 36th Bridge Day Saturday

(10/16/2015)

Those crazy bridge jumpin' fools will come to the 36th 2015 Bridge Day to impress crowds that often exceed 100,000.

The event is Saturday, October 17.

Above the famous white water rafting on the New River, jumpers, rappelers, and thousands and thousands of onlookers gather for the state's biggest party of the year.

People come from all over the country to the one day event, not just to watch the jumpers, but to enjoy the sideshow attractions on the closed New River Gorge Bridge, not the least being multitudes of interesting characters.

The festival says it is all about living. Organizers say: "We've got the bridge, we got the gorge and we've got the beautiful mountains, and it's fall."

Construction of the nearly $37 million New River Gorge Bridge turned a 45-minute journey along narrow roads that snaked up and down the gorge into a trip of about one minute.
