GRANTSVILLE WOMEN DUKE-IT-OUT ON STREET IN 1896 (11/03/2012) 3/10/1896 - Grantsville women Alice Fogle, married, and Gay Bell, unmarried, suburban residents, got into a dispute about some trifling matter last Thursday morning and some hot words passed between them. But the matter blew over until some time in the afternoon, when, by accident or otherwise, they met in the road in front of Mrs. Hosey's residence where they proceeded to settle their differences in the Fitzsimmens-Maher style. One round of about five minutes was fought without time-keeper referee. The punishment, outside of hair pulling, was not very great. The names of one or two right prominent gentlemen got mixed up in the quarrel. We are sorry to give publicity to matters of this kind, but the business in which we are engaged makes it our duty to do so.
