(02/12/2001)

Calhoun's tough men lost Saturday night after winning bouts the previous evening at the 16th Annual Toughman Contest in Parkersburg. Eric "Fat" Starcher went a full three rounds with his heavyweight opponent Craig Martin of Marietta, Ohio to lose by decision.

Starcher drew huge interest at the sold-out Parkersburg High School Field House Friday night, punching out heavyweight Rodney Lamp in the first forty seconds of the first round, a slug fest that brought the crowd to their feet.

Both Starcher and Martin fought feverishly into the third round when both contenders rapidly tired.
