Lot Purchased for New Hotel in 1920

(05/26/2002)

Transcribed by Norma Knotts Shaffer from microfilm of the Calhoun Chronicle dated 1/8/1920.

At a meeting of the directors of the Grantsville Hotel Co. held Saturday the Court street lot was purchased from Ira Hardman at the price of $1,625.  The building committee will report plans in a short time and construction will be begun as soon as possible.  By the way, if you have been favored with a gentle hint from Secretary Hathaway, do not delay seeing him.  You can't build a hotel on hot air and cold potatoes.
