Lawsuit Fails to Materialize in 1921

(01/27/2002)

Transcribed by Norma Knotts Shaffer from microfilm of the Calhoun Chronicle dated 5/26/1921.

A large number of Pine Creek people were attracted here Monday to attend a little law suit which failed to materialize.  Rufus Jarvis and Leonard Nichols had a little argument which finally into fisticuffs, and it appears that Rufus got the worst end of the bargain.  A warrant was issued for Nichols and the trial set for Monday.  Just about the time the stage was properly set and the curtain ready to go up, the prosecution decided not to push the case against Nichols, and Jarvis paid the costs and the affair was ended.
