HUR'S TOUGHMEN SEEK CHAMPIONSHIP - Parkersburg Contest February 9-10

Two of the Hur area's toughest guys have entered the West Virginia Toughman Contest in Parkersburg on February 9. Jewell D. Rider, 23 aka Jason Rider is 5' 10" at 165 pounds, a 1996 graduate of Calhoun High, with four years in football and wrestling. Eric "Fat" Starcher, a 25-year-old hunk of a man from down on Rowels Run, wants to win really bad. "Actually I'm just doing it for fun," he said.

The West Virginia Toughman Contest, the 16th Mid-Ohio Valley Event, will be held at the Parkersburg High School Field House on February 9-10. The champion will receive $1000. Other participants will qualify for other prizes and money.

There are two men's weight divisions, light heavyweight at 160-184 pounds and the heavyweight class at 185-400 pounds. There are two classes for women. All participants must be 18 or older. For further information call 1-800-296-3897.
