Calhoun varsity softball continued its Red Devil Rally Road Tour by heading south to
play the Eagles of Elk Valley Christian High School.
The contest was never in doubt as the Red Devils powered to a final score of
16-1.
The game was stopped after three innings by the
mercy rule.
Winning pitcher Dani Church threw a one hitter and tallied four strike outs with three
walks during her three
innings on the mound.
The game's big sticks were Dani Church hitting two for three with a triple and two
runs batted in; Ashli Cottrell one for twp with a triple and pne
RBI; Jessica Heiney two for three with a double and two RBI; Mallory Hopkins hitting
two for three; Katie Hupp hitting one for three with a triple; Ashley
King hitting one for three with a double and Andrea Hardway hitting one for two.
Overall the Red Devils had 10 hits in the three innings of
play.
Calhoun JV Softball continued in its winning ways by taking the night cap. They won
their 2nd straight contest by beating Elk
Valley Christian JV by a score of 11-0. The winning pitcher was Ashley King.
Next game, weather permitting, is tonight as the Red Devil Ralley Road Tour travels
west to neighboring Ravenswood HS for a
Varsity and JV set. Game time is 5:00.
