CALHOUN MIDDLE WILL HOST PLAYOFF GAME TUESDAY

Calhoun Middle School A Team hosts Walton at Mt. Zion this Tuesday at 6 pm for the first round of the CWVAC playoffs.

The winner will advance to play for the conference championship at Webster Springs.

Coaches Mike Sims and Jeff Houchin are asking all sports fans to come to the Tuesday game and support the A Team.

Middle School finished their regular basketball season this past Thursday at Walton. Walton's size overwhelmed the B Team as they handed Calhoun a 56-26 loss. The B team finished the season with three wins and 13 losses.

B Team Action:

Brandon Cottrell, 2 points 4 rebounds and 2 steals; Josh Cain, 5 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal; John Sampson, 5 points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals; Danny Burkett, 8 points, 2 rebounds, 1 steal; Justin Gerwig, 2 points, 4 rebounds, 1 steal; Kyle Keesler, 1 point, 1 rebound, 2 steal.

Calhoun's A team jumped to a 11-1 lead in the first quarter, and held on to win 27-4 against Walton last Thursday. The team ended the season with 9 wins-7 losses and a chance to host a first round playoff game. The team started the season with 0-4 before winning nine of the other thirteen games.

A Team Action:

Matt Houchin, 4 points, 1 rebound, 1 steals; Andrew Norman, 5 points, 5 rebounds; Zach Moore, 5 points, 6 rebounds, 2 steals; Chance Hardway, 2 points, 5 rebounds' John Dodd, 9 points, 14 rebounds, 3 steals; Jesse Keesler, 2 points, 9 rebounds, 3 steals.
